Old people are getting scammed like crazy. They’re lonely, on Facebook, and losing their minds. Just looking on X, you can see how many people interact with the obvious scam Elon and Keanu accounts. Weirdly, a lot of them seem to be Republicans and don’t understand how technology works.
There should be a national system that tracks if you’re buying gift cards and cuts you off if it thinks you’re getting scammed. Its interesting how scam and fraud is such a big topic in the news right now. I hate it. I want those people to get thrown in prison and die. I’m sick of this weird political battle over everything. Nick Shirley is uncovering fraud and he’s immediately labeled as a far-right? How is that a political issue? There’s a group of people, they’re committing fraud, its obvious. How is this a bad thing? Why are politicians getting involved in this? The Republican talking point of “They’re protecting the fraud they like to commit” looks very true under these circumstances. Unfortuantely, the Republicans also commit massive amounts of fraud and its useful to them right now. If Shirley was uncovering fraud on the right I wouldn’t be suprised to see them act in a very similar way. This California election, and them passing laws to seal their vote count methods also doesn’t help them seem legit. The obvious scams are obvious, on both sides, but their voting bases are in this delusion where they just believe whats being pushed from the party.
How has so much of the public become captured by a political party? Both sides are full of failure and lies. The things they say they care about are simply false, its just the tool they use to swindle your vote. Some people die for their political party and its so sad to see good people get tricked. The whole thing is wrestling, its kayfabe, they go to dinners together, its selling tickets. Gun control? Trans kids? War? Pro-life? The lawmakers don’t give a fuck about those things. The politicians pay attention to what gets the public fired up and then pushes those buttons for money and votes. You are being manipulated by people that DO NOT CARE.
Today it’s well known that wrestling is fake, but people don’t care. They like it. Its fun. I understand this. Politics though, we’re still in the 80’s. Its still real to a large portion of the public. They think if they vote a certain way it’s going to make their life better. It won’t. There’s no titanium in his elbow. The chair isn’t a real chair, its made to break easy. Or that table, etc. If you want to make you life better, start working out, eat properly, sleep properly, stop drinking and drugging and smoking and talk with real people and be honest. Your life sucks because your body needs an outlet for its emotions (exercise), you’re hungover every day(stop wilding), you need to eat better and sleep better. There’s an acronym, HALT, hungry, angry, lonely, tired. Just do what you need to do to avoid those things. One of the biggest reasons a person is unhappy is they are lying to themselves. They believe they deserve things when they don’t. If you don’t have something and you want it, then make a plan and make it happen. If you can’t then ask for help. If you still can’t then the problem is you. If you’re honest you know why you can’t achieve or get something. You know why you’re unwilling to make it happen. You are choosing to fail and you are dishonest about your abilities. The problem was always you. Nobody else.
In 20 years I hope the parties and politics and public will have calmed down enough so that common sense could be let back into the public discourse. It’s exhausting to have such a short news cycle with each story designed to dish out the maximum amount of emotion. You won’t have to worry about school teachers trying to affect the gender of your children. The race wars will have died down and we hopefully return to what it felt like in the 90’s. Trump will be dead. Wrongthink and PC culture gone. We’ll all have a computer chip in our heads and can communicate instantly and know what each others intentions are and our AI overlords will let us have the good nutrient paste on the weekends. It’ll be great. Life will consist of the AI’s making bets on us, and we’ll get ahead by making shady deals with the AI to affect the outcomes.
